weeeee... i'm in sound design class right now.. 8D

did u know that changes in pressure that cause weather patterns is like sound, except that the pressure changes over hours and days instead of seconds and minutes? does that mean that if time went by faster for us and we had a wider range of hearing, that we could hear weather changes?? 8D just a thought.

i rung in the new year playing Maple Story.. D8 how sad is that??

meh...

but our assignment in this class sounds kool 8D i think i'm gonna like this class. 8D

sooooooo... anyways.... i don't think Chris likes me. and... i think i'm ok with it.. or, at least... i'll be ok. i think. but there's this other guy who may or may not like me, but acts towards me very similar to how i've been acting towards Chris, so that's what makes me think he might like me. anyways, i'm pretty sure he's a fellow aspie, which is kool. i'm thinking i might talk to him. he's pretty cute, too. 8D

meh... not much to say.. my life is boring. i've been dog-sitting... poor Oscar has 3 bad disks in his back, so i have to be very careful with him... he might need surgery... so, if anyone would be willing to pray for a little weenie pup, it would be appriciated. ^_^

also, my cousin, Matthew, is in Iraq right now... so he also needs prayer. especially since he got suckered into the whole thing. DX when he joined up, it was to fund college... and they assured him that he wouldn't be sent overseas.... damn liars. D8

ok, so i haven't updated in far too long... >_>

well, school's been out for awhile now. i ended up with:
Earth Science: A
Storyboarding: A-
Character Animation II: B- >_<
Character Design: C+ >_<

my first C since 7th grade >_< but that class was crazy hard!! and 2 of my classmates didn't have time to finish the project... so they have to retake the class. i think i might retake it, too.. if i have an opportunity. i just think there's more i can get out of the class. but we were expected to do stuff even our upperclassmen haven't ever done!! >_< baaaah... it was a crazy hard semester, in general. my only easy class was Earth Science. well... Storyboarding was easy, too... but it was also time-consuming. Animation wasn't hard... just too time consuming.. i didn't have time to make things pretty.. Y~Y but.. i think most of my classmates were in the same boat as me... most of their final animation projects were just as if not more unfinished than mine. i think the only one who managed to actually finish everything, and do a craaaazy awesome job on it, too, was Matt.... he is teh awesome.. @w@ *worshipz*

i was gonna work on this "Rock in the Road" animation thing the upperclassmen wanted help on, this summer.. but, after asking me to apply for it, my teacher denied me.. >_< i was like... "then y ask me to apply in the first place??!! O-o" eh, oh well. my greatest disappointment about it was that i later learned that Chris was accepted to work on it.. D8 IT'Z NOT FAAAAIIIIRRRRRRRR!!!! i wanted to work on it with Chris... Y~Y it coulda been an opportunity to actually talk to him... get to know him... working on a project with him like that... Y~Y but nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.... damn it. >_<

so, instead, i'm working on a crazy insane animation project with a couple underclassmen.. 8D we're still in the modeling stage right now, though... >_> but i didn't have access to Maya... so Doug let me borrow his laptop!! how awesome is that?? 8D and Stephen is a fellow aspie (and probably Doug 2, honestly..) so we have crazy fun random convos... it's so much fun!! plus, we meet every Sunday at 2pm in the boys dorm lobby and eat pizza while we look at eachother's progress. last time we were there, i saw Chris!! 8D i was so happy!! i hadn't seen him since May 1st. D8 i was starting to go through withdrawals.. lol. he was vacuuming.. 83 it was teh awesome.. <3

my last day of class is the 30th... and we start working on "a rock in the road" on the 5th. that means only a 5 day break before starting work. >_< and it'll be 9-5 every day, 5 days a week. >_< on the plus side... nothing required in addition to that.. aka: no homework. 8D anyways, "a rock in the road" may or may not be the actual name of it, but it's this year's juniors' animated short. there aren't very many of them this year, so in order to get it finished by the end of their senior year, they're recruiting underclassman to help them during the summer. it's a good opportunity, and may or may not count towards our required internship. either way, it'll look good on our resumes. i'm hoping to do prop/environment modeling. 8D i love modeling...

areas of my field i like:

modeling (loves)
animating (likes)
cleaning up the graph editor (i actually like this process)
making blend shapes (doesn't mind too much but will avoid out of laziness if possible.. XD)
making blend shape controllers (doesn't mind)
texturing (if using photoshop)

areas in my field i dislike

texturing (if using zbrush... i really hate zbrush >n<)
dynamics:

hair (not too bad but tooo time consuming and a pain in the butt)
ncloth (i can never remember how to do it... too complicated)

attributes:

making squash/stretch controller (again, too complicated)
making other limitations or other kinds of attributes (toooo complicated!!)

rigging:

actually building the rig (not tooooo bad, but i have a hard time remembering sometimes how to parent joints so i waste time with trial and error)
making controllers (i can never remember how... something about IK handles or something....)
attaching the skin to the skeleton (actually not a problem at all.. this is an easy step)
painting the weights (pain. in. the. butt. >_< and it's impossible to make a rig look 100% awesome in all positions)

soooo.... i'm hoping to go into modeling. i just hope i can get good enough on modeling characters that people can actually make good blend shapes for... that's my only reason for not wanting to work on characters just yet. but i like the stuff that involves a lot of detail-oriented repetitive stuff.

anyways, enough about school.. >_<

Strawberryfest was today... but i didn't go... so i'm gonna have to get my yearbook from the student office. i was gonna submit something for the art show, too... but i didn't. eh, oh well... there's always next year.

my sissy came for a surprise visit this weekend!! 8D i really missed her, so it was good to see her. she says she'll come visit again next month. we played apples to apples last night... fun game. 8D then, we went to the olive garden today and she treated us all to brunch. 8D i ate 7 raviolis that cost $11 o_o plus, i ate 2 plates of salad, 4 bread sticks, and my mom's spaghetti side dish that she didn't want. i also drank 4 glasses of tea. then i ate this desert... strawberries, and this chocolate cake/pudding.. thing... and warm cream... it was really good. i ate the strawberries and chocolate thing separate, though.. cause i don't like chocolate mixed with fruit. but my sister had them sing happy birthday to me... which was embarrassing, but fun, too.

my birthday is on Saturday. 8D i'll be 22. O_O where or where did the time go??!! 4 more years, and it'll be my star b-day.. XD

anyways, my sis celebrated my b-day with me early, since she can't be here next weekend. ^_^

ok, next topic. i go in to see the neurologist on Tuesday... really hoping for an official Asperger Syndrome diagnosis. when i saw him last, he kinda brushed me off. DX he was old-school and didn't really know the first thing about AS.. >_< i realized this as soon as he said "i'm reluctant to diagnose you, because it doesn't sound like you have a mental retardation, but a social one."
........
WHAT THE HELL DOES HE THINK ASPERGER SYNDROME IS???????!!!!! DX that moron.

weeeeeee!! i'm hyper!!! 8D

so, i went to the art department's Christmas party thingy... and we did this scavenger hunt thingy.. it was SO. MUCH. FUN!!!! we broke up into teamz of 4.. my group was: Matt, Stephanie, Justin, and me. ok.. so.. here was the thingy.. or as best as i remember it...
1. get the first clue from Zach (teacher)
2. take out the paper with something written in code and decode it by running around 2nd floor Brock looking 4 little pieces of paper with the code symbols and what letter they correspond to.
3. the message was something about computer games and red spheres... soo.. then we had to go to the art gallery, where the interactive wall was set up with a virtual 2nd floor brock.. lol. so, we had to use a video game controller to navigate the art department... in virtual reality.. and find the red spheres.. then run to that location in real life and find the corresponding red circle.. and get one that wasn't already gotten..
4. get the cd off the red circle. start up a computer and put it in.. then open 1 thing, get a code, use the code to open another thing, for the clue, something about the online joker and dancing elves... then go to the online joker, find the ppl in ur group, save the pics to the computer, go to the website on the cd, enter the pics and resize them, save the link, and e-mail it to the e-mail address provided on the cd... then the vid was played for all in the room to watch... dancing elves with our facez.. XD and then the next clue was e-mailed back.
5. the next clue was a password for the 3 pics also on the disk. once the password was entered, the pics could be viewed. they were connect-the-dot pics.. so we opened them in photoshop and connected the dots
6. the pics were, a Christmas tree, a toilet, and a printer... so we had 2 go get a paper, each from behind the Christmas tree, in the boys' bathroom, and in the print room..
7. the pics made absolutely no sense... at first glance. but, when we took them to a light-box and laid them on top of each other, lining up the designs, we got an image of this monstrosity of a metal man we made at a party last semester..
8. so, off we went, outside in the rain to where the beast stood, and in it's mouth was the next clue
9. we were then directed to this area in the hallway, where we were given 3 mirrors and a laser light, and told to find A5, and then use the mirrors to shine the laser light from A5 to Z5, which was on the wall, where we started... so, with much patience, and skill, we aimed the mirrors to reflect the light from the overflow computer lab, around the corner, out the door, down the hall, and onto Z5.
10. we were then given the next clue. a jumble we had to read backwards.. an easy thing for us.. but i guess it took some people 15 minutes to figure out it said "color harmony"!!
11. so, off we went to the color room, where we had to make snowflakez that looked just like the pics we were provided.. so.. we had to fold the paper, and cut it.. and try to get it to look right..
12. then, we were given our next clue, which told us to go to the art department website and find a snowflake, which we finally found.
13. upon clicking on said snowflake, we were provided with an image, and our clue said something about color range.
14. so, we opened the pic in photoshop and messed with the color range, revealing a hidden message, "text adventure to" and then had some random numbers, we had to put in order... but, luckily, Stephanie figured out, after text messaging some random person the word "adventure" that it was Zach's number, so she text messaged it to him.. and got a text message back saying to ask someone for a present.
15. so, we went back to the Christmas tree, and got a present from someone, and when we opened it, discovered it was a puzzle.

buuuuut, we stopped there, cause 2 of the groups finished at that time. the 1st place team each got a 2 gig flash drive, and the 2nd place ppl each got a $25 gift certificate for Michael's. (but Zach gave me a kick-ass laser light pen as a consolation prize!! 8D)

apparently, we would have had to put the puzzle together, then flip it over, and put it together again, then do something and then something else and then get some papers with letters on them, unscramble the phrase.. something about creativity.. then go tape them on the glass walls of the art gallery. aaannddd.. that would be the end. lol!!

soooo, then we drank soda and ate pizza and Matt made himself sick, and he and i went into the 2D animation room with Zach and looked at the freshmen animations. then i got Aaron (teacher) to open the locker, so i could check out a tablet, then i worked on my digital illustration homework until 11 pm and then came come. w00t!!

and now it's 12:39 and i'm hyper but tired and i have community service 2morrow at The Samaritan Center, and i'm gonna watch some random amv's and then go to bed. ja ne, minna!! X3

well, i'm pretty much positive i have Asperger Syndrome. i'd really like a diagnosis, though... i've found on online forum.. it'z really nice hearing from ppl that can relate 2 my weirdness.... i mean.. they don't think it'z weird at all that i can't stand cardboard or hate talking on the phone... ^_^ and i've done a lot of research 2night.. and it all makez sense... i feel a lot better knowing that all the thingz that were odd abt me r all under 1 name.. and that there r a lot of otherz like me. ^_^
